Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...

A Historic Day

No matter what happens, today will be a historic day in history! We will either have our first black person as President or our first woman as Vice-President. I am hoping it's the first black person as President though!! Whatever you do today make sure it includes a trip to your local polling place. Every vote counts!! Don't let TV mislead you over who is winning. Get your toushy out the door and go to the polling place. Its a good opportunity to meet new people while waiting to cast your vote. Don't be one of those people who say oh well my vote doesn't count cuz California (or insert any state) is Democratic (or Republican). There are measures, senators, judges, schools, veterans, children, poultry and even the potholes in the streets that are waiting for you JOE VOTER to voice your opinion. You want to be part of a vote that changes history. Your country needs you to vote. It's not just about the President but about your community, your state, your cou...
