Club 33

Last night, hubby and I celebrated our good friend, Kristy's birthday at Club 33. Kristy had been to Club 33 last year for lunch but this was her hubby Charlie's first visit and her first dinner experience. In my opinion, to truly experience Club 33, a person must go for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. It is always fun to take someone who hasn't been before as its fun to watch the excitement in their eyes as they enter the exclusive club at Disneyland.

I was kind of concerned about what I was going to eat at Club 33 as it is a French Bistro meaning a ton of creamy sauces and butter which isn't a good thing for a diabetic but once again, Club 33 amazed me. The chef made me a special meal without butter. Guess what that included? A Chateaubriand steak, rice and broccoli. While I could certainly taste the lack of butter in my meal, it was still very delicious! At least I am eating healthier on this diabetic diet. It was the first steak I had during my pregnancy and boy was it ever good!!! Steak and meat repulsed me early on in my pregnancy so I have just stayed away from it ever since. I may have to go back and revisit the steak section of my local grocer!!

We had a great time with the Forsgren's. They are always fun to hang out with!

Vaccine Part 1

As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen.  If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public.  Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me.  Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....

Random Thoughts as the Weekend Closes

Today I got a friend request from my mother-in-law. Will she embrace the FaceBook? We wait and see. Technology is cool...I got to speak to my friend in Hong Kong today. The BlindSide is a really heartwarming and good movie. I didn't know what to expect. I saw Sandra in blond hair and I thought cheesy. Now I can't decide whether I want her or Meryl to win the Oscar. Cats are really nice creatures. I haven't really had much exposure to one before. I especially like the fact that you can hold them like babies. I wonder if I stole Mr. Chuckles if anyone would notice? hum. Bartenders blowing fire makes for an interesting drink at the bar. Plantains are better when they come with your meal and not as an appetizer. I met a man who wanted to see Leap Year. Krueger continues to take jobs that suck ass and take up her precious time. Sorry CougarTown screwed ur day up Krugs. We missed u at the movies today. Ever since I got Mo I have meet the most interesting people ...

So Proud

I have yet to bear children so I am not sure what its like to be proud of your kids but I do have this "kid" at work that I am extremely proud of this week. Three years ago, when I first transferred to my current studio due to "the merge" I was one of two people who made up the international marketing team. I am sure many of you remember me complaining how crazy I was. Anyhoo, during that time when we were setting up our team, this young girl walked into my office to interview for the internship position I was hiring for. I have been working with interns for as long as I can remember and before that, I worked with young kids at movie theatres. In all my years and in all those kids I had never met a person like the girl who walked into my office that day. It took all of two seconds for me to know she was talented and she was a star. After meeting with her I called off all the other interviews and told HR to hire her. She was a rock star intern! Later when w...
