A Little Person is Coming!

...and they need a bed! Hubby and I just ordered a white 4 in 1 crib for our baby girl off of Amazon! Along with a pink breathable bumper (don't ask what a breathable bumper is verses a regular one, just imagine a lot of research online), a turtle crib sheet (turtles are mom's favorite cuz they reminder her of Hawaii), a birdie crib sheet (dad's favorite, cuz he is into birds lately) and a white and pink crib skirt, we are going to have one good looking crib soon!!!! The only thing we are missing is a mattress! We tried to order one from Amazon but they wanted to charge us $55 for shipping which is crazy!! The mattress only cost $80 bucks so we hit the delete button and will be heading to Babies R US or Target to get one of those.

This week, hubby and I also decided on our colors for the nursery. We are going with "Hawaiian Shell" and "Smoked Oyster." Imagine a soft pink and a soft brown/grey. Not sure if brown/grey is a good description but it sorta looks brown and it sorta looks grey. Anyhow, when I saw the words "Hawaiian Shell" I just knew it had to be for us as we LOVE Hawaii and can't wait to take baby girl to our favorite place in the world!!

But before we can paint, we need to have a garage sale to get rid of a ton of stuff, which I hope to have at the end of August. Once that is done, we can move the rest of the furniture from the office to our Bonus Room which is currently too full to hold one more thing. Then we can paint! So if anyone likes to paint we will be needing some services soon cuz hubby hates to paint and I am supposed to be staying away from the fumes. Oh Krueger!!! I think I remember you saying you liked to paint!!

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

My Favorite Gourmet Trucks

As of last night, I have now tried 18 food trucks! Only 60 more to go! My friends, Krueger and Kristy joined me at 55 Degree Wine in Atwar Village to try the always busy Grilled Cheese Truck! I have run into the truck a few times now but something has always prevented me from trying their food. Mostly the really, really long lines!! This time the hour wait wasn't so bad with two girls to gossip with. By the time we got to the front we were ready to execute our food plan. Kristy took lead and placed an order for 3 sandwiches (the brie, the mac-n-cheese and the rib meat) plus the dessert sandwich and some tator tots!!! I was a bit bummed that they didn't have the sandwich I went for, the Harvest sandwich but the 3 sandwiches we got more than made up for everything. I was glad to try this truck with 2 girls because we split the sandiches in 3rds which was awesome because I got to try a variety of their sandwiches. Now I must add the Grilled Cheese Truck to my list of fa...

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...
