And the Oscar Goes To....

LOLLIPOP!!! I wish. King's Speech won the best picture Oscar for 2011. I am so happy as it was my favorite film of the year. Hubby and I made it over to the crazy busy West Hollywood for my company Oscar party at BLT Steak. Along the way we pasted huge crowds and the Vanity Fair Party. We had a great time at our party. My studio set up a really nice affair. The food was awesome and the drinks even better. We arrived at 5pm and stayed till about 10:30pm. Mingled with coworkers and met the restaurant owner. We will have to go back to eat there on a regular night as the steak was delicious!

Date Night

Last night hubby and I decided it was time for date night. Our destination, Los Feliz. We checked out Palermo's an old favorite of mine for some Italian. While we were having a Lady and a Tramp moment this crazy Accordion guy came over and sang us the cheesiest love song ever. It was so funny. We shared a large plate of spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and salad. After dinner we bought tickets at Los Feliz 3 and watched Blue Valentine in the tiniest theatre and tiniest movie screen known to mankind. It was so tiny it could have been a 60 inch TV is somebody's home!! After the movie we walked over to the House of Pies and had some yummy dessert. Hubby of course ordered the best thing, Chocolate Peanut Butter Butterscotch pie. It was so delicious. A really fun evening.

It's Almost Oscar Time!

I can't wait!! It's almost time for the 83rd Annual Acadamy Awards!! This show is what all movie people live for. The dresses, the shoes, the jewelery, the awards, the speeches, the long ass show, oh yeah and the snacks! I can't even tell you how many times I have imagined accepting an Oscar in my head and the various speeches I have written. hehehe This Sunday, hubby and I will be going to an Oscar Viewing Party that my studio is throwing at the popular WeHo restaurant, BLD Steak. I have been invited the last few years but never been able to go due to other commitments. So I am excited I can go this year and now, all the sudden, I need to find a cocktail dress so that I can smooze with my Hollywood colleagues and hopefully, watch my studio take home some awards for TRUE GRIT (up for 10 nominations) and THE FIGHTER (up for seven nominations). If one of our movies doesn't win then I really hope the best picture Oscar goes to THE KING'S SPEECH which is my ...

My First 9" Vinylmation

So hubby and I have mainly focused our Vinylmation collecting to 3" vinyls but there have been a few 9" ones that have caught our attention. Hubby "broke the seal" and bought a "Day of the Dead" 9" set (and by set, it means it comes with one 9" figure and one 3" figure) and last night, I received my first 9" set from the Disney Store, the "Mad Hatter and Door Mouse" set. Here is a picture of my latest treasure that is going with all my other Alice in Wonderland stuff.

Happy President's Day!

Question: We have like 50 presidents, how come we don't have a President's Day every month???? Or at least a day off every month? Anyhoo, my President's Day has been spent as follows: 1. Slept in 2. Walked Moses 3. Ate Cereal 4. Showered 5. Went to Mall 6. Bought 2 vinyls (I shouldn't have) 7. Bought stuff at Target 8. Bought 6 pairs of shoes at Nordstroms (thanks gift certificates) 9. Had a bowl of noodles 10. Ate too many mini Cadbury eggs 11. Went to the dog park 12. Walked around Silver Lake 13. Ate too many Cadbury eggs 14. Blogged 15. Napped 16. Watched movie 17. Not sure its only 4pm

Happy 35th Birthday Krueger!

One thing can be sure in life and that is my friend, Krueger will always celebrate her birthday at The Red Lion. A true blue German (her parents moved to the US from Germany) Krueger is a creature of habit but mostly she is stubborn. It's in her blood. Her grandma survived a concentration camp and that will to survive in the hardest conditions lives on in her granddaughter. How else can you explain Krueger's unwillingness to give up VHS tapes? You may think you know a creature of habit but let me assure you that you don't...unless you have met Krueger. If she doesn't understand it or live by it, its wrong. This girl has a secret stash of her favorite Addias flip flops (made in the 1990's) that she will only take out for a special occasion because Addias has stopped making them and she has worn her many other pairs down to crumbles. She only got this pair because a friend was traveling the country and found them in a little shop and bought them for Krueger...

All By Myself

Hubby has gone to Joshua Tree this weekend for a man's trip. Apparently when they get together they geocache.

Happy Valentine's Day!

This Weekend's Loot

We ran into a little boy and his Dad who is a cast member at DownTown Disney and we traded a Peter Pan we already had for Mim from the new Villians Series. Bought the new Simba Topper at DStreet from the Animation Series Got Chewbacca from the very hard to find Star Wars Series Then I took a duplicate vinyl I had to the trading box at D-Street. Choose lucky box #13 and got this one. This is a rarer one, harder to find from Park Series 3. #13 box has always been good to me. Then hubby traded for box #2 but got a duplicate so choose one from the clear trade box and got this one: Ghost Mickey from Holiday Series #1 Meet up with our Toy Dealer and got a whole set of these....Cutesters Too. My favorite is the SMORE figure. And the sad part is that I could keep going with this list. I think this weekend we realized in the words of Clayton that we have "Too Manys" and so we are trying now to focus on trading instead of buying. Yeah, we will see how long that lasts.

Early Valentine's Day

We celebrated Valentine's Day a little early this year. Hubby's schedule has been a little crazy with the switching of days to nights to days to nights....that I just wanted to make sure we spent some quality time together, so I suggested we have some dinner over the weekend instead of Monday when we would have to rush home from work and try and go out where we would likely run into a huge crowd. As I just returned from a business trip overseas this past week, it seemed only fitting to spend Saturday night with hubby. Hubb and I usually make a huge deal out of our celebrations but this year we decided not to make a big deal out of Valentine's. Instead we spent the day at Disneyland trading, had a nice lunch, took a good nap, then we traded Vinylmations (he had bought some for me and I had bought some for him) and finally, had a really great meal at our favorite restaurant, Cafe Was. The evening was simple yet perfect. Everyone has different opinions on Valenti...

Lisbon, Portugal

Well, it happened! I travelled to Portugal. Here are a few pictures of my business trip and a few things I learned. 1. Always ask if your ticket has been purchased - Despite having a reservation number, I got to the airport and travel hadn't issued my ticket. Had a panic moment. So did my boss. 2. Always ask if production gave you the right format. Got to Portugal and the tech guy was like why did you bring this tape? My response that is what the filmmaker gave me. Apparently there are no D5 players in Portugal. 3. Red wine in Portugal is really, really good and I hate red wine. 4. Portuguese custard tarts are super tasty. 5. Beware of resturants....this one we ate at, tried to force us to pay for our dinner in cash. Like who has $260 euros in cash?? Luckily, they were no match for Nicola and her power of reason...then why do you have Mastercard symbol on your door?....Yah, tax evaders. 6. Why have one mule when you can pay for two? Me and Bay's guy. 7. When in Europe, its...

The Stork Has Delivered Another One

I was in Portugal on business this morning, when I received the news via email that one of my dear friends (aka one of my bridesmaids), Mindy and her hubby, had had their first child. Here are the details and a few pictures. Gabriella Elaine - They call her Bella for short 5 pounds, 9 ounces 19 3/4 inches Labor started at 5:30am, arrived at hospital at 6:50am, born at 7:13am on Monday, February 7, 2011. Can you say jealous....about that labor time. Gosh am I reading this right she had the baby in 45 minutes. Now that is one lucky woman!

A New Month, A New Start

So February is already looking to be a fabulous month! Work has asked me to go to Portugal this coming week. I will be attending a conference for some of our smaller European markets. Will be hanging with my work hubby from the London Office and some of my other chums from London. Very excited, hope it goes through.
