A few years ago hubby and I attended one of my vendor's bowling parties at this mom and pop old school bowling alley in Montrose. For these of you wondering where Montrose is it's about 10 minutes north on the 2 freeway. The party was a fun time so we went again and again, as the bowling party was an annual event for my vendor.
Was it fate? Anyhow, each year we ended up sitting next to the same couple when it came time to grub on food. And each year we would chat the evening away with the couple. Eventually, someone had the great idea of getting together outside of the bowling party and that is how we meet our friends Verona and Dave. For a few years now, we have been getting together with them and their family.
They like to call hubby and I their kids even though they have a daughter near our age and an adopted son who is in college. After hanging out with them so much we kind of feel like part of their family. We even met Verona's mom at a Fake Neil Diamond Concert the other night. The thing I can appreciate about Verona and Dave is their sense of fun and that is why I like them so much. I can only hope when I am older I can have ask much fun as they do together.
Their daughter, Bree, who is a couple years younger than us invited us to Sunday dinner yesterday. Apparently she was introducing her folks to Korean BBQ for the first time and wanted to know if we wanted to be part of the fun. Of course I had to be part of the experience only to see Dave try and use chopsticks! So we accepted her invitation and joined the family in Ktown a.k.a. Korean Town for Sunday dinner. We even meet a new family member, one of their cousins.
It was Brian's first time at Korean BBQ and my second time. My first experience was just okay and I really didn't think I would try it again but I guess all things need a second chance to shine. So thus, I accepted the invitation to spend time with my friends rather then eat BBQ. But all ended well because not only did I have a lot of great laughs with my friends but my second time at Korean BBQ was awesome and I am glad I gave the food a second chance. Here are some photos our night out:
