A Yooper Wedding

One of my bridesmaids in my wedding, Mindy, was married over Labor Day Weekend in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Anyone who lives in the UP is called a "Yooper." My girlfriend's parents have a cabin and a house in the UP so my girlfriend visits quite often. The hubby and I left a week early so we could enjoy the great outdoors. We rented a cabin in Deer Park, Michigan. Don't even bother trying to map quest this place because its off the grid! My parents joined us in our two bedroom cabin on Lake Muskelounge and the four of us had a week of fun driving all over the UP. We visited Mackinaw Island and stayed at the Grand Hotel, which was hubby's first visit, we visited a black bear ranch and saw a ton of bears and thought about our friend, Toby and his love of bears, we hiked around Tahquamenon Falls and then of course, there was the main event, the beach front wedding of my friend Mindy to Fred. Here are some gorgeous photos that were taken of the event. These were taken by a few photographers. She hired 4 photographers but with all the digital cameras at the wedding I wouldn't be surprised if she had a few thousand pictures! Here are a few to enjoy.

Vaccine Part 1

As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. 7th Birthday

Mark ur calendars, Dec 12 is an awesome day to go to Disneyland! There was no one at the park yesterday morning. We had 3 amazing hours 8am to 11am to ride! Some Disneyland records we set yesterday:  ✅A After many years, we finally got a wristband (and bought) a giant Disneyland candy cane.  ✅F First people on pirates of the carribean.  ✅ Line for Indiana Jones was 10 minutes long  😳  This never happens and we sat next to the people (strangers) who sat next to us on pirates b ut we did not walk over to the ride with them. ✅ By a fluke, we were also the first people on Big Thunder Mountain and kiddo rode in the cart by herself! (They opened late and we were in the right spot) ✅Kiddo  rode front seat on Matterhorn because a kind guy, his first visit, said he was too tall to sit in front and she wouldn’t be able to see sitting behind him ✅ Prode space mountain for the first time and huffed that it wasn’t scary and it was no IncrediCoaster.
