I Got a New Job

I am not sure if all of you know this this but this month I got a new job. It's a pretty good job if I say so myself. Not only do I get to sleep in each morning till 9AM but I get to take an hour and half lunch that doesn't involve being interrupted by a buzzing blackberry. I also get out of work early which allows me to enjoy some daylight hours. I have time to run errands that I normally don't have the time for during the weekdays. Traffic to and from my new job is fabulous. Not a lot of congestion. My new co-workers are really nice people and they have the most interesting stories to tell. I do have to go through security everyday because my new job is in a rough section of town but, I get to cut in front of people because of my job title so I never have to wait in line like the rest of the workers. The people in my building where I work are very interesting to observe. These people come from all walks of life. My job has very limited paperwork except for the very few notes I take when I am listening to my bosses. There is no computer, phone, fax or crackberry involved. My job is completely stress free except for the very first day. Because it was new to me, I didn't know what to expect thus causing a little stress. I am doing something new in this job and I feel really good about it. I feel like I am contributing to society and that makes my heart feel good. I only get paid $15 a day and when you count lunch and mileage I probably break even. Yet still, I love my job because it's stress free and interesting. What is my new job? Jury Duty. We're all afraid of that envelope that shows up in our mails boxes but I am here to tell you don't avoid your summons. Look at that paper as an opportunity to take on a new job. You just might like it and get to escape your real job for a little while and see what life is like for other people. I get 10 days paid leave from my employer for Jury Duty Service and I am going to use about 8-9 of them. Although I thought it a hassle at first, I am finding that I like it. It's pretty interesting to see how our society works and you know what? I haven't been so stress-free in a very long time. In fact, I feel pretty good about what I am doing. So take my advice people and answer that summons. It just might give you a new view of the world you live in.

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...

7th Birthday

Mark ur calendars, Dec 12 is an awesome day to go to Disneyland! There was no one at the park yesterday morning. We had 3 amazing hours 8am to 11am to ride! Some Disneyland records we set yesterday:  ✅A After many years, we finally got a wristband (and bought) a giant Disneyland candy cane.  ✅F First people on pirates of the carribean.  ✅ Line for Indiana Jones was 10 minutes long  😳  This never happens and we sat next to the people (strangers) who sat next to us on pirates b ut we did not walk over to the ride with them. ✅ By a fluke, we were also the first people on Big Thunder Mountain and kiddo rode in the cart by herself! (They opened late and we were in the right spot) ✅Kiddo  rode front seat on Matterhorn because a kind guy, his first visit, said he was too tall to sit in front and she wouldn’t be able to see sitting behind him ✅ Prode space mountain for the first time and huffed that it wasn’t scary and it was no IncrediCoaster. And the line...
