Spent another weekend in the trenches a.k.a. our backyard. I wonder exactly how those Egyptians built all those pyramids back in the days? They certainly didn't do it with people like me. They must of had a ton of Hercules and a ton of Hubs! Heck, I only had to move some wood and I was beat! This whole project has shown me how weak I have become as a person. I really need to get back on the Wii and work my strength. What happen to the days when I could lift and carry two 35 lb film canisters? Well, apparently I am not 21 years old anymore, certainly not working at a movie theatre anymore and I have only gotten weaker in my advanced age as I push paper behind a desk.
Anyhoo, despite me not being as helpful as I wanted to be I did help the hubby finish the pergola and I feel that while my strength may not have been up to game, my creative ideas were. I must say I am very proud of the pergola. The fencing will always be a secret laugh for The Hub and I but the pergola is a work of art! I can't wait till next spring and I can decorate it!!!
Our gardeners re-seeded our backyard but I am afraid we probably should have waited until next week, after the guys deliver our huge-a** rocks we bought this weekend. If you are ever in the market to buy rocks, stones and way cool stuff to make way cool outdoor stuff then you should check out La Canada's Rustic Stone, Inc. I never had so much fun spending $700 on stones in my life! The Hub and I went on Saturday morning and picked out some cool rock to make our fire pit and then we found two huge-a** stones that we are putting around the fire pit as seating. We bought one stone that will fit one person's bottom and another stone that will fit two people's bottoms. I can already see people roasting marshmallows in my head! Anyhoo, the Rustic Stone people are delivering our rocks next Saturday morning and they friggin' need a forklift to deliver those baby's to our perfect little backyard heaven. They better be careful and not mess up my new backyard!
Only 1 more week till my 4-day vacation and 1 more week until my parents arrive. I am very excited to see them as the last time I saw them was during my brother's wedding which in the hoopla I feel I really didn't get to see them and then the time before that was Hawaii and my wedding and more hoopla. So I have been trying really hard to come up with some cool things to do while they are here. The problem is that when people come to visit my mind goes blank. I am not sure why it does this as I can think of plenty of good things to do and often wish someone was visiting so I can share the coolness. Perhaps its the pressure of trying to show people a way cool time?
I bought my little book on Paris last night. Had fun reading about all the places we could see. I could spend a whole week there but I only have 3 days. So the question becomes what to do? What is the coolest thing to do in Paris??
The Hub informed me that if I intended to go to the Louvre, that it wasn't open on Tuesday's. Apparently during his grand European adventure he went to Paris 3 times. On his last visit he went to The Louvre on a Tuesday only to find it was closed much to his displeasure. I thought this was really random but sure enough when I looked up the hours it was closed on Tuesday's (good to know cuz I want to go there). As I read on it seemed a lot of other places are closed on Tuesday's as well. Does someone know if Tuesday is the French's Saturday/Sunday? Anyhoo, The Hub and I will be in Paris over our 5th dating anniversary. So we get to be romantic in the romantic Paris while celebrating our romance! Yep, 5 years ago I got stuck in a bedroom with the Hub in Sanger and the rest is history and now we are going to be in Paris 5 years later. Life is amazing!
