Summer is Over

There is only one week left until Labor Day and I can't help but be sad about it because it means summer is over. Yes, even in sunny California I still feel the seasons change, granted it is not as drastic from changing from sun to snow but the season changes from fires to mudslides none-the-less. As far as summers go, the weather this summer has been nothing but pleasant. I can't remember complaining about needing air conditioning, as much as I did last year. Luckily our ceiling fans were able to do the job of keeping us cool and if the fans can keep us cool it must have been a good summer in California! Maybe after we finishing our landscaping project we can investigate central air/heat.

Anyhoo, if I was bored in July I certainly wasn't in August! August started out with my Malibu birthday party (the party was so exclusive that only Brian was on the guest list!). And then, I spent the week after my birthday trimming bushes, picking out stones and pavers and generally watching the two strong Buller boys build me a patio area. Then this last weekend all my girlfriend's and I went to Vegas for our Second Annual Girl's Trip (I could write a whole bunch more about our wild times but I have been told what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas! My buddy Jung had the unique experience of watching us girls in the wild. Poor Jung, he must think all girls are crazy!).

I am looking forward to spending some quality time with my hubby this weekend now that August Movie Night has been cancelled. So life, has once again returned to a crazy, busy schedule which, I guess, is good because it's better then being bored.

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

Vaccine Part 1

As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen.  If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public.  Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me.  Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....

7th Birthday

Mark ur calendars, Dec 12 is an awesome day to go to Disneyland! There was no one at the park yesterday morning. We had 3 amazing hours 8am to 11am to ride! Some Disneyland records we set yesterday:  ✅A After many years, we finally got a wristband (and bought) a giant Disneyland candy cane.  ✅F First people on pirates of the carribean.  ✅ Line for Indiana Jones was 10 minutes long  😳  This never happens and we sat next to the people (strangers) who sat next to us on pirates b ut we did not walk over to the ride with them. ✅ By a fluke, we were also the first people on Big Thunder Mountain and kiddo rode in the cart by herself! (They opened late and we were in the right spot) ✅Kiddo  rode front seat on Matterhorn because a kind guy, his first visit, said he was too tall to sit in front and she wouldn’t be able to see sitting behind him ✅ Prode space mountain for the first time and huffed that it wasn’t scary and it was no IncrediCoaster. And the line...
