Vegas Movie Night

This month Movie Night took us to Vegas. The monthly event was basically an excuse for all of us Movie Night group members to go to Vegas and to see our good buddy, Jung. Jung has started the summer out right, by moving from crazy LA to crazy Vegas! No one, not even Jung himself, knows how long he will be there but its obvious he is having a good time renting a house and finding good places to eat. He even made up a "Bucket List" of restaurants to try out.

We hadn't plan to make the drive until Friday morning but Brian got out of work way early on Thursday so we were able to leave LA around 10PM. With our blow up air matress in tow, we spent the first night of our trip crashing in Jung's front office.

Movie Night took place in the afternoon on Friday and when the Bosgul took off to celebrate Madam Bosgul's birthday at 6PM, we headed over to the fabulous RED ROCK to begin our two night stay in the most glorious bed I have ever slept in, a Sealy Posterpedic! See Photo Below. The hotel was a totally hip and modern place. There was no hint of cheesy theme at this resort. With tons of restaurants, a fab pool and an amazing spa we couldn't go wrong. The place even had its own bowling alley, 12 screen movie theatre, dance clubs and adventure spa (kayaking, hiking, horse back riding, etc).

Brian and I had a great time staying at RED ROCK. It's one of Vegas' newest hotels but it's not located on the strip. For us, that was a good thing. We had a good time chillin' in some fluffy robes in our nice new, chocolate brown room. When not in the room, we relaxed at the spa, had rockin' good sushi with Jon, Danielle and Jung, pooled it up in the awesome pool area, saw rocker Slash, who performed in our room (you can ask us later what that means), ate a ton at their great buffet and yep, did a tiny bit of gambling (damn craps! but love Keno!).

Here are a few pics from our visit to Red Rock. I can't wait to return and sleep in that glorious bed! Their bed was so comfy that we decided it was time to retire our 10 year old mattresss for something new, hopefully posterpedic new. Alas, my posterpedic dreams will have to wait a bit while the fun fund builds up again but its nice to have something new to dream about!

Vaccine Part 1

As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen.  If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public.  Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me.  Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...

7th Birthday

Mark ur calendars, Dec 12 is an awesome day to go to Disneyland! There was no one at the park yesterday morning. We had 3 amazing hours 8am to 11am to ride! Some Disneyland records we set yesterday:  ✅A After many years, we finally got a wristband (and bought) a giant Disneyland candy cane.  ✅F First people on pirates of the carribean.  ✅ Line for Indiana Jones was 10 minutes long  😳  This never happens and we sat next to the people (strangers) who sat next to us on pirates b ut we did not walk over to the ride with them. ✅ By a fluke, we were also the first people on Big Thunder Mountain and kiddo rode in the cart by herself! (They opened late and we were in the right spot) ✅Kiddo  rode front seat on Matterhorn because a kind guy, his first visit, said he was too tall to sit in front and she wouldn’t be able to see sitting behind him ✅ Prode space mountain for the first time and huffed that it wasn’t scary and it was no IncrediCoaster. And the line...
