Week Nights in Review

Mon: Monday Nights are grocery night. Love the new grocery store Fresh and Easy and their $5.00 off coupons.

Tue: Watched "American Idol" Performance show. Freaked out that the wrong David would win.

Wed Part 1: Went to the movies. Movie Watcher Wednesday's = free popcorn. Saw "Baby Mama." Pretty good flick. Tina Fey is funny!

Wed Part 2: Got home after the movie to find replay had missed recording "American Idol." It recorded the stupid Lost rerun! Shit! So about 30 minutes before the ending is where I came in. So glad that David Cook won "American Idol!!!!" That made me happy. I was kinda scared that the other David would win because Simon kept saying he was the best on performance night.

Thurs: Went to BJ's for dinner. Meet up with Krueger, who just got back from New York. She worked on the "Survivor" finale. Not the show but the live finale show. Apparently she has been working the finale's for several season's now. Hum, learn something new about your friends all the time! She gave me a T-shirt from the show and a badge. So cool! Cuz I watched the whole season. She is currently working on the new "Circus of the Stars" TV show and then she just accepted a 3 year gig on the "Bonnie Hunt Show" which tapes in Culver City. Looks like Krugs may be moving to the West Side with gas being $4 bucks these days it won't be fun or cost effective to drive from Burbank to Culver City everyday.

Fri: The hub and I both got out of work early so since we weren't going out of town for the weekend we went to the movies and saw "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" (good not great) and "Made of Honor" (totally horrible). It was double movie night for us. Came home about 9:30ish and made some burritos. We eat way too much Mexican especially now that Brian has a) found out he likes Guacamole and b) he has learned how to make really good guacamole (yum).

Sat Day: Had a long adventurous drive down to Hermosa Beach to go to an arts and crafts summer festival fair. Ate a ton of bad junk food.

Sat Night: Went and had sushi dinner at Kabuki with birthday boy, Regul, his lady, Danielle and the Hinojosa's. The four of them were going to see Indy. Since we had already seen it we didn't go but while they waited in line, we hung out in the movie theatre's bar lounge with Matt and Michele and had some drinks. Krueger and Matt L. who didn't come for sushi, came to the theatre to watch the movie so we got to see them for a little bit. After everyone went into the movie we went home.

Sun: ? Not sure yet.

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

Buffalo Wild Wings

When I was going to Michigan State University, my friends and I would always go to BW3's for hot wings. They always had a variety of flavored wings from Honey BBQ to steaming hot, hot, death wings. Wings and a beer were just the thing to satisfy a busy student's appetite. When we frequented BW3's it was a dive bar but by the time my brother graduated from MSU they swapped locations for a building across the street and turned the name to Buffalo Wild Wings and the restaurant became more like a chain thing. Well, color me shocked the other day when we went to the movies and I saw a Buffalo Wild Wings being built in the AMC Burbank 16 complex. Apparently, after looking on their website they are one of the fastest top 10 chains in the US. So of course I had to introduce the hubby to one of my favorite college treats. I don't think he is so much a fan of chicken wings so we got boneless chicken wings a.k.a. tasty little chicken chunks in two of the flavored sauc...

Everyone is Having Kids

Yesterday, one of my roommates from the Burbank years gave birth to a little girl. This is her third child. While I am so completely happy for her this happy celebration has gotten me thinking about children and nosey people who ask me when I am going to have them. Some might think this subject is it too personal for blog talk but I figure if people want to bud into my business by asking me about kids then I can bud into yours by talking about them. I realize that I am physically old enough to have kids but being physically old enough isn't enough for me. Today, as I looked at my friend's blog describing her birthing experience, I realized the only reason I am thinking about children so much lately is because so many darn people are asking me about them. Every single friggin day I run into "Patty" at work. I have known her for a very long time and while I know she was super happy for me when I got married, I am so not happy about her enthusiasm about me having bab...
