Susie's Engagement

My friend, Susie Pie just got engaged last night and it's totally because of me!! Well, not the engagement part but she met her soon to be hubby at my bacherlotte party in Las Vegas last year!

Yep, while me and the girls were whupping it up, Susie Pie and Kitty Kat ran into this team of hockey players and ended up partying it up on this party bus they had rented to haul the hockey team around in. It was the total talk of the bacherlotte party the next morning. Sus and this guy continued to call each other all weekend and we totally teased her that maybe next year we would be coming back for her bacherlotte party.

Well, the hockey player turned out to be a pilot in the Air Force who lived in Florida so none of knew how that would work out but Sus surprised us all and kept flying to Florida months after the Vegas trip and he would fly to LA. The hub and I would visit with Sus and her Top Gun throughout the year whenever he was in town. They were cute together and it was nice to see Sus happy.

I had a feeling this guy was different from all the rest. He was a genuine nice guy who treated Susie Pie really good. When Sus told me she was selling her condo to move to Florida to be with him, I knew something was really different about this one. This morning I happen to be doing my weekly My Space check and her status went from Single to Engaged. So of course I checked Mr. Top Gun's profile and his status was engaged too. I sent her note and she confirmed she got engaged last night!

So congratulations Susie Pie! I am so happy that my bacherlotte party could bring two people together. Me and the gals are going to Vegas in August if any of you girls need to find a man or need to get your man to pop the question. hehehehehehe

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

Buffalo Wild Wings

When I was going to Michigan State University, my friends and I would always go to BW3's for hot wings. They always had a variety of flavored wings from Honey BBQ to steaming hot, hot, death wings. Wings and a beer were just the thing to satisfy a busy student's appetite. When we frequented BW3's it was a dive bar but by the time my brother graduated from MSU they swapped locations for a building across the street and turned the name to Buffalo Wild Wings and the restaurant became more like a chain thing. Well, color me shocked the other day when we went to the movies and I saw a Buffalo Wild Wings being built in the AMC Burbank 16 complex. Apparently, after looking on their website they are one of the fastest top 10 chains in the US. So of course I had to introduce the hubby to one of my favorite college treats. I don't think he is so much a fan of chicken wings so we got boneless chicken wings a.k.a. tasty little chicken chunks in two of the flavored sauc...

Everyone is Having Kids

Yesterday, one of my roommates from the Burbank years gave birth to a little girl. This is her third child. While I am so completely happy for her this happy celebration has gotten me thinking about children and nosey people who ask me when I am going to have them. Some might think this subject is it too personal for blog talk but I figure if people want to bud into my business by asking me about kids then I can bud into yours by talking about them. I realize that I am physically old enough to have kids but being physically old enough isn't enough for me. Today, as I looked at my friend's blog describing her birthing experience, I realized the only reason I am thinking about children so much lately is because so many darn people are asking me about them. Every single friggin day I run into "Patty" at work. I have known her for a very long time and while I know she was super happy for me when I got married, I am so not happy about her enthusiasm about me having bab...
