I Sew and Write Books

This Christmas I received a Singer sewing machine. I had taken a sewing class in high school so I remebered a little bit about sewing but when I found myself stumbling to thread the machine I turned to the DVD instructions that came with the machine. Brian popped the DVD into the computer and we both took a few lessons. I thought the DVD lessons were really helpful and soon I was a pro at threading again. Te cool thing about the instructions is the visualness of them. I don't know about ou but I hate reading instructions. I will try to figure the thing out myself and believe me I tried but after popping in the DVD I was on my wa in 5 minutes.

So after the lessons, I sewed myself some curtains for the den. There were 4 panels to sew. I did the first three and then my little panting puppy of a husband, who couldn't stand that I got a new toy and was playing with it, asked to do the last panel. Let's just say the last panel is a bit different and leave it at that. The curtains are now hung and at the proper length so that is another home project completed. Today, I also ventured out to make 2 pillows for our TV chair that is in the den. Sewing is pretty fun. Now I have to find a new project. I guess that means a trip to the fabric store!

Also, I just recently published a book of photos from our wedding in March. To check out the book go to:

Vaccine Part 1

As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen.  If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public.  Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me.  Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....

Random Thoughts as the Weekend Closes

Today I got a friend request from my mother-in-law. Will she embrace the FaceBook? We wait and see. Technology is cool...I got to speak to my friend in Hong Kong today. The BlindSide is a really heartwarming and good movie. I didn't know what to expect. I saw Sandra in blond hair and I thought cheesy. Now I can't decide whether I want her or Meryl to win the Oscar. Cats are really nice creatures. I haven't really had much exposure to one before. I especially like the fact that you can hold them like babies. I wonder if I stole Mr. Chuckles if anyone would notice? hum. Bartenders blowing fire makes for an interesting drink at the bar. Plantains are better when they come with your meal and not as an appetizer. I met a man who wanted to see Leap Year. Krueger continues to take jobs that suck ass and take up her precious time. Sorry CougarTown screwed ur day up Krugs. We missed u at the movies today. Ever since I got Mo I have meet the most interesting people ...

So Proud

I have yet to bear children so I am not sure what its like to be proud of your kids but I do have this "kid" at work that I am extremely proud of this week. Three years ago, when I first transferred to my current studio due to "the merge" I was one of two people who made up the international marketing team. I am sure many of you remember me complaining how crazy I was. Anyhoo, during that time when we were setting up our team, this young girl walked into my office to interview for the internship position I was hiring for. I have been working with interns for as long as I can remember and before that, I worked with young kids at movie theatres. In all my years and in all those kids I had never met a person like the girl who walked into my office that day. It took all of two seconds for me to know she was talented and she was a star. After meeting with her I called off all the other interviews and told HR to hire her. She was a rock star intern! Later when w...
