Is This Week Over Yet?

Any relaxation gained from our 4-day weekend last week was gone by 8AM on Monday morning. Work was totally crazy this week. One big project after another. With two of my managers out, I got their work too and it was not the week to get extra work. Thought today might be slow but after another 8AM conference call another two huge projects were thrust on me. I thank god for our great support help. Without Maria and Tim I might as well keel over and die.

You might wonder why at 10PM at night I am still on the computer since work was so busy, well, it is because I am entering my address book/contacts on our brand new computer. Brian and I's early Christmas gift to each other. The screen I am currently looking at is giganto and the keyboard is nice and slick with square keys. I can't wait to surf around and see what other cool things this computer has to offer.

Today, I said good-bye to my "swingers" reference aka the chevy cavalier. I donated it to a children's charity called Kars for Kids. Now we are down to two cars again. Still lovin' my Jeep. It's nice to sit high in a vehicle again.

This week I worked on some curtains for our den and dining room. With a roll of tape I was able to see what curtains would look like in the dining room. I found out they looked pretty good so now that I have a handy dandy sewing machine my next house plan is to look for some fabric to make curtains. I had already bought curtains for the den from Ikea but they need to be altered a bit and hemmed. We also need to look into how much central air/heat would be. Since it is getting cold I imagine they are having sales on air conditioning. I hope anyway. I have also been itching to paint the kitchen. I know what colors I want to paint it but there are some old lingering items I would like to fix before tackling that project so I guess we will see on that one. Oh yeah, and I want to rearrange our bedroom. Sush don't tell Brian cuz he thinks its fine but I want to see how the bed would like positioned another way. That room needs some finishing touches. Pictures and other little things like curtains!!

This week and weekend has been dedicated to errands. But the thing on my to-do list I really need to get done is finding a Christmas tree! I hope we can find one. Brian just informed me he took another shift this weekend so I don't want to go out without him. I suppose I should get to Christmas shopping and holiday cards too. Next week is full of vendor parties and the big studio party. I hope all my big projects go away so I can go to them! They should be fun but my main squeeze can't go so that is a bummer.

Well, off to do other stuff around the house. Write to ah all later.

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

My Favorite Gourmet Trucks

As of last night, I have now tried 18 food trucks! Only 60 more to go! My friends, Krueger and Kristy joined me at 55 Degree Wine in Atwar Village to try the always busy Grilled Cheese Truck! I have run into the truck a few times now but something has always prevented me from trying their food. Mostly the really, really long lines!! This time the hour wait wasn't so bad with two girls to gossip with. By the time we got to the front we were ready to execute our food plan. Kristy took lead and placed an order for 3 sandwiches (the brie, the mac-n-cheese and the rib meat) plus the dessert sandwich and some tator tots!!! I was a bit bummed that they didn't have the sandwich I went for, the Harvest sandwich but the 3 sandwiches we got more than made up for everything. I was glad to try this truck with 2 girls because we split the sandiches in 3rds which was awesome because I got to try a variety of their sandwiches. Now I must add the Grilled Cheese Truck to my list of fa...

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...
