Nothing New

This week went buy really quick. Had a belated birthday dinner with Caroline on Tuesday and caught up on 3 months worth of goings-on, etc. Heard rumors that Toby is supposed to be back in town but I have been hearing them for a few weeks now and there has been no siting as of yet. I am supposed to catch up with him and Caroline soon reminding me of the old El Torrito and red boots days. I wonder if he ever got his car back? hum? Caught up on some TV, well, tried too, I kept falling asleep. I think I have tried to watch Journeyman 3 times now. Oh well, thank god for replay and the ability to take your time. Talked to El Jefe for three hours on Thursday and another hour last night He tried to convince me to go to this big where house party but I was dog tired. Don't know why I didn't do anything all week except work. Couldn't believe I spoke to him for 3 hours, for 3 hours I should have at least gotten a personal appearance. Supposed to get tacos with him soon. Supposed to have dinner with Marie this week but alas, I found out my hubby has a couple of days off next week before starting a new gig so excited to actual spend weekday time with him. Today Brian's dad is coming for a visit to see the new house. Have dinner reservations at Il Camilo which I heard really good things about. The best thing about Eagle Rock is that I have yet to find a bad place to eat. In fact all the places have been extremely good. Tomorrow, meeting up with Susan and meeting the famous air force pilot that she met at my bacherlotte party. I so want her to get married so I can say I set someone up at my bacherlotte party in Vegas at a strip club. Well, I really didn't set them up but I was the reason she was in the strip club. P.S. still lovin the new JEEP. Although the coppers pulled up behind me at my house the other night and I had to prove to them I didn't steal my car. Talk about weird. How would little ole me know how to steal a car?

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...

Vaccine Part 1

As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen.  If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public.  Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me.  Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....
