Doctor P

Paging Dr. P! The girl came home from school with a cool new hat!

Little Kid Swear Words

Penny has informed me that she isn't a baby nor a toddler but she is a big girl and at age 4, I guess she is right. We just ditched the training pottery and she is using the grown up toilet. Not that she couldn't before but we just got used to that little toilet and with the new year it's time for a new thing. So hubs went to Home Depo to get one of those two in one toilet seats. As a three year old her favorite swear words were potty words. Saying pee pee and poo poo would crack her up into the most adorable giggles. Now that she is four, "arm pit" seems to be the word that cracks her up.

Another First!

First parent teacher conference today. Overall, good performance in everything but need to learn full name, sharing, listening to other teachers. Her math, letter writing and of course, the arts are amazing! Go Penny!

Nurse Maid Moses

I don't normally get sick a lot but this winter I have been sick twice! First a cough and then a cold. Had to stay home from work one day to catch up on sleep and get some rest. Luckily, Moses was right by my side holding my hand. He is such a good nursemaid!

Blue Apron

After taking a 4 week break, we are back to getting our Blue Apron meals delivered and I am so excited! Tonight I am making Chicken & Udon Soup which is perfect since I am sick. I'm hoping the broth does wonders for my congestion! Blue Aprons sent me these fun facts which I found interesting.

Addicted

...to Acai Bowls! Ever since we discovered Acai Bowls in Hawaii we have been trying to recreate them at home! Thank goodness Costco has Acai juice and smoothie packets! Hubs is getting pretty close to matching the yummy Hawaiian ones we tried at Crown Pineapple Plantation, a tiny little store near our hotel that made 5-star worthy fruit bowls. The bowls are made of blended frozen Acai (a Brazilian fruit), granola, crushed macadamia nuts, fresh pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, honey and crushed dark chocolate shavings. Oh so good!!

Our Neighbor, The Thief

So every year without fail in January there is a massive rain that causes a flash food which always, always happens on trash day. Do you know what this means? It means all of our garbage cans flash flood themselves down the street. Thinking I would be smart this year I wrote my address on both of my garbage cans. When I got home sure enough the cans had washed away and I had to go searching for my cans. It wasn't hard as everyone got home before me so there were only a few cans lefts. I found my black one near my house but I couldn't find my blue one. After walking up and down the street I figured someone took it. So I walked up a neighbor's driveway determined to find it. I found it at the first house I looked at. There was my cracked blue garbage can in my neighbors driveway. I knew it was mine becsaue mine had a unique crack in the lid. I was about to take it when I noticed that he had wiped my address off f the bin. I could see my sharpie marks where he wiped. H...

Hawaii

We did something that we never have done before...we booked a last minute trip...to Hawaii. Penny has been watching You Tube videos on Hawaii and one day in early December she asked hubs and I if she could go. I think she remembered our trip to Maui last year and some recent hotel stays and equated those to Hawaii. It really didn't take much to convince hubs and I. We looked at each other and said okay and started to look. Now December probably isn't the best time to go money wise but I ended up finding a deal that was perfect for us through Costco and booked it two days after Penny's request. We've never really gone out of state on winter break before and since both hubs and I had two weeks off from work it really was a perfect time! So we drove home from Sanger the evening of Christmas, packed and washed clothes on the 26th and headed to the airport early in the morning of the 27th and found ourselves in Hawaii at noon on the 27th! We got lei'd at the airp...

Hayley's 4th Birthday

We came back from Hawaii late Friday night and woke up the next day and had a party to attend. First party at PeakaBoo, an indoor playhouse and I was impressed. No clean up and done in 2 hours!
